1. Matthew 24:37-42 Days of Noah

2. Matthew 24: Olivet discourse
Matthew 24 is known as the Olivet Discourse where Jesus, at the request of the disciples, talks of the End Times or "All of it". The Olivet Discourse continues into chapter 25.

3. Matthew 24:3 All of it in the Olivet Discourse
In the "Olivet Discourse" , which spans Matthew chapters 24 and 25, Jesus tells about "all of it" (play on words) as in "Ol-i-vet".
Verse routeMatthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? [kjv]
Verse routeκαθημενου δε αυτου επι του ορους των ελαιων προσηλθον αυτω οι μαθηται κατ ιδιαν λεγοντες ειπον ημιν ποτε ταυτα εσται και τι το σημειον της σης παρουσιας και συντελειας του αιωνος [gnt]

This verse, from the middle of the 1800's, has become the foundation of theology, books, etc., on the "End Times". Beliefs, sometimes fanatical, in the inerrancy of the Bible, became solidified from these beliefs.

4. Matthew 24:37 Public discourse
We skip 35 interesting verses about the end times to get to the verses of current relevance. This discourse is one of the longest recorded of Jesus, but almost never mentioned or covered in most churches. Why might that be?
Verse routeMatthew 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. [kjv]
Verse routeωσπερ γαρ αι ημεραι του νωε ουτως εσται η παρουσια του υιου του ανθρωπου [gnt]

Be careful not to confuse the privet discourse about the end times in Matthew and Mark with the public discourse at the temple that is much the same, but with some important differences.

Why was Noah considered a king for a short time?

Verse routeκαι ουκ εγνωσαν εως ηλθεν ο κατακλυσμος και ηρεν απαντας ουτως εσται η παρουσια του υιου του ανθρωπου [gnt]

Is that time before the flood relevant to the time of today? Or do many deny the flood? Who were being married, then and now? Have other things happened then and now?

The selective evidence deception is to frame the problem in a way that omits important details.
Verse routeJohn 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. [kjv]

Tetractys 2 Tetractys 4 Line 4

The tetractys is a triangular arrangement of ten points. The ancient Greek word "τετρακτύς""tetractys" and is also called the tetractys of the decad. A layout of bowling pins is in the shape of a tetractys.

The modern Greek word "τετρακτύς" (teh-tra-KTEES) ≈ "tetractys",

This pattern and number was considered special (mystical) by Pythagoras and his followers for their "secret" worship.

There are many interesting historical and geometrical properties of the tetractys.

Tetractys

This surprise is often associated with "weeping" and "gnashing of teeth".

Verse routeτοτε εσονται δυο εν τω αγρω εις παραλαμβανεται και εις αφιεται [gnt]

The context is from the previous verse. The "men" is assumed from the grammatically masculine "one". The Greek word translated as "other" is that of "one" (masculine).

As a code word, the "field" represents the "world" as in "people" in the "world". Where is the one being "taken"? How about the "threshing" floor at the "mill".

The context is from two verses earlier. The "women" is assumed from the grammatically feminine "one". The Greek word translated as "other" is that of "one" (feminine).

Are the two "grinding" or are they in the process of being "ground" (or both)?

Verse routeδυο αληθουσαι εν τω μυλω μια παραλαμβανεται και μια αφιεται [gnt]

The Greek for "left" is often translated as "forgiven". Where is the other "taken"? The ancient Greek word "παραλαμβάνω""take over (by consent or force)". Literally, it is "beyond" "taking". How is this word to be taken in these verses? The only thing Jesus says you are to do is to "take" is your "cross" and "follow" Him. However, Jesus is not bound by this "take" restriction.
