Genesis 5:1-29 Hidden plan of salvation in the generations from Adam to Noah
1. Genesis 5:1-29 Hidden plan of salvation in the generations from Adam to Noah
2. Verse segments build
3. Bowling pin layout
The
tetractys pattern is the same as the
bowling pin layout, except that the base is at the back and the one pin is in the front.
The
TenWordPin model does not appear to need many of the interior transitions (vertical) from node to node. The sequential ordering is needed.
For
10 (ten) nodes or elements, there are
10! (ten factorial) or
3,628,800 ways or
permutations of arranging those elements. There are
45 possible edges so there are
245 or about
35,000,000,000,000 ways (subsets of edges) to include or exclude each edge in the model. Some models work better than other models.
4. Models
Models can be descriptive, predictive, help in remembering, etc. The following claim might be mode in regards to a specific model.
Perhaps there is no model.
There
always exists a model. A one to one model uses everything under consideration. This is often done in databases which model some phenomena using data relevant for each item (e.g., customer).
The best material model of a cat is another, or preferably the same, cat. Norbert Wiener (and A. Rosenblueth).
If you had a one to one model of the universe, where would you store that model?
To paraphrase a quote from a court case in the 1990's,
If the data does not fit, you must acquit. That is, regardless of who had the opinion for which the data does not fit sufficiently well, one must not acquiesce to that opinion.
5. Relationships and associations
Technical
relational algebra and
functional dependency definitions using "
⇒" as "
implies" and "
∞" as "
many" as in "
not constrained" (includes
degenerate cases):
if (A ⇒ B) and (B ⇒ A) then A:B is 1:1 (one to one)
if (A ⇒ B) and (not (B ⇒ A)) then A:B is ∞:1 (many to one)
if (not (A ⇒ B)) and (B ⇒ A) then A:B is 1:∞ (one to many)
if (not (A ⇒ B)) and (not (B ⇒ A)) then A:B is ∞:∞ (many to many)
A one-to-many is handled in the same way as a many-to-one (only from the other direction).
Many sheep and one gone astray.
Two or three go to one.
One body and many parts.
Greatest and/or least among many.
Master with many servants, servant with many under him.

6. Finite representations of infinite objects
Computer/Information science can be defined as the search for
finite representations of (potentially)
infinite objects.
The more finite the time, the faster the program runs.
The more finite the space, the less space the program requires.
Recognizing patterns and effectively and efficiently using such patterns is an important part of computer science.
Is this possible? Does it make sense?
7. Concealed and revealed
Saint Augustine (Early Christian father) :
The New Testament is in the Old Testament "concealed".
The Old Testament is in the New Testament "revealed".
One can find hints of this "
after the fact", but such truths are not plain or obvious "
before the fact".
Do you see it? Do you need to see to believe? Or can you believe and then see?
8. Remez: Concealed and revealed
Where in the Bible is the Gospel story and plan of salvation mentioned? It might be as a Hebrew "
remez" or
hint of something deeper.
The Hebrew word "רמז" (remez) ≈ "remez". There are many places in the Old Testament that have hint of what can be considered a "remez".
|
 |
From the Hebrew, a "
remez" is a hint of some deeper meaning.
A "
remez" is a form of what in the security field is called "
steganography". That is, a message concealed such that it does not, at first glance, appear that there is a hidden message there.
GNT (Greek New Testament) example:

9. Genesis 5:1-29 Hidden plan of salvation in the generations from Adam to Noah
In computer science terms, the family tree is
not a (pure)
tree structure. A
tree is a
connected graph with
no cycles.
The family tree structure, in reality, is what is called a
DAG (Directed Acyclic Graph) since the corresponding unconnected graph has cycles. Why?
Name the first
ten generations starting at
Adam and ending at
Noah.
The
ten generations listed in Genesis, using the meaning of the Hebrew words, appears to relate to the salvation message.
10. Genesis 5:1
Genesis 5:1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; [kjv]
… liber generationis Adam … hominem … similitudinem … [v]
… generacioun … Adam… man … man … [wy]
… generacion … man … man … hym … [ty]
The
LXX (Septuagint) uses the phrase "
generations of man" rather than "
generations of Adam" and "
God created Adam" rather than "
God created man". The English of the
KJV (King James Version) appears to come from the Latin Vulgate translation of the Hebrew.
11. Genesis 5:1
KJV: This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
Latin: hic est liber generationis Adam in die qua creavit Deus hominem ad similitudinem Dei fecit illum
Wycliffe: This is the book of generacioun of Adam, in the dai wher ynne God made man of nouyt. God made man to the ymage and licnesse of God;
Tyndale: Thys is the boke of the generacion of man In the daye when God created man and made hym after the symilytude of god
12. Male and female
Genesis 5:2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. [kjv]
masculum … feminam creavit … benedixit … Adam … [v]
In Matthew 19, Jesus reaffirms the creation of "
male" and "
female". Looking at the data (reality), one might think this obvious.
13. Matthew 19:1-12 Joined together
In Matthew 19, the Pharisees
"examine" Jesus.
Matthew 19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, [kjv]
19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? [kjv]
19:6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. [kjv]
Many of these topics were covered by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount.
Jesus continues about "
divorce", "
eunuchs", etc.
14. Genesis 5:2
KJV: Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
15. Generations
Here are the first
ten generations starting at
Adam and ending at
Noah.
1. Adam
2. Seth
3. Enos
4. Cainan or Kenan
5. Mahalaleel or Maleleel
6. Jared
7. Enoch
8. Methuselah
9. Lamech
10. Noah
|
These are found in Genesis and Chronicles (forward order, bottom-up manner) and in Luke (reverse order, top-down manner).
There are interesting connections of the Biblical genealogy with Sumerian kings, etc.
Question: Did the Sumerian accounts come from the original Bible account or did the Bible accounts come from the Sumerian accounts?
 |
Details are left as a future topic.

16. Population growth
Starting with
Adam and Eve, how many people could populate the earth by the time of
Noah?

Each of the Hebrew words has a meaning that is interesting.
Did the meaning come from the name or did the name come from the meaning? Examples:
sandwich
Levi's
silhouette
crap
etc.
23. 1 Chronicles 1:1-4 Generations from Adam to Noah's sons
1 Chronicles 1:1 Adam, Sheth, Enosh, [kjv]

28. Generations
In pre-flood times, as in some cultures today, names of people have a meaning.
Sometimes the meanings make sense. In other cases, the meaning has been lost.
Sometimes the meaning comes from the name when something happened to that person. For example, someone is lucky and gets the nickname "
Lucky". Later, his luck is attributed to his name rather than that luck accounting for his name or nickname.
In pre-flood times, the meaning of the names in the genealogy from Adam to Noah appear to make a statement about the Gospel story.
As an example, take the names of the first ten generations in Genesis and their meaning in the original language.
29. The idea of one God deception
The
selective evidence deception is to
frame the problem in a way that omits important details.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. [kjv]

If you do
not believe in God, you believe that everything happens by chance.
Movie quote from the
Matrix:
Choice is an illusion, created between those with power, and those without. (reminds one of the "
birds").
[two adultery verses and two divorce verses skipping the two cutoff verses (eyes and hands) in the middle]
30. Adam - man
Let us start at generation one.
The name
"Adam" means
"man" or, literally
"dirt" or
"clay", from which man is made. As a color it is
"red".
Question: Did Adam have a belly button? Explain.
31. Strongs - Adam
*H119 אָדַם (aw-dam') : to show blood (in the face), i.e. flush or turn rosy:--be (dyed, made) red (ruddy).

36. Genesis 2:7 Adam
37. Adam and ruddy red clay
Genesis 2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. [kjv]
[he]
The first man, created by God.
Dirt or clay of a reddish-brown color.
The color "red" is in "ruddy".
38. 1 Corinthians 15:45 First and last Adam
1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. [kjv]
Adam and Eve were in the garden of Eden, paradise. Did (the first) Adam want to be a gardener?
No, he wanted to be the king and rule over creation. Who is the last Adam? Jesus is the last Adam.
39. Genesis 2:7
KJV: And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
40. Genesis 4:25 Seth - appointed, placed
Genesis 4:25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew. [kjv]
[he]
41. Genesis 5:6-8 Seth
Genesis 5:6 And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos: [kjv]
5:7 And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters: [kjv]
5:8 And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died. [kjv]
42. Strongs - Seth
*H7896 שִׁיתּ (sheeth) : a primitive root; to place (in a very wide application):--apply, appoint, array, bring, consider, lay (up), let alone, X look, make, mark, put (on), + regard, set, shew, be stayed, X take.
*H8352 שֵׁת (shayth) : from H7896 שִׁיתּ; put, i.e. substituted; Sheth, third son of Adam:--Seth, Sheth.
*G4589 *1 Σήθ (sayth) : of Hebrew origin (8352); Seth (i.e. Sheth), a patriarch:--Seth.
43. Genesis 5:6
KJV: And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:
Hebrew: ויחי שת חמש שנים ומאת שנה ויולד את אנוש׃
Greek: εζησεν δε σηθ διακοσια και πεντε ετη και εγεννησεν τον ενως
44. Genesis 5:7
KJV: And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:
Hebrew: ויחי שת אחרי הולידו את אנוש שבע שנים ושמנה מאות שנה ויולד בנים ובנות׃
Greek: και εζησεν σηθ μετα το γεννησαι αυτον τον ενως επτακοσια και επτα ετη και εγεννησεν υιους και θυγατερας
45. Genesis 5:8
KJV: And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.
46. Seth
The "
sons of Seth" theory was created to try to explain the Nephilim without having angels leaving their habitation, etc.
Sons included "
Cain", "
Abel" and
"Seth".
47. Not better than the angels
2 Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; [kjv]
The fallen angels got into trouble. So will humans, it appears.
48. Josephus: Angels consorting
English: For many angels of God now consorted with women and begat sons who were overbearing and disdainful of every virtue, such confidence had they in their strength; in fact the deeds that tradition ascribes to them resemble the audacious exploits told by the Greeks of the giants. (Jewish Antiquities, I, 73)
(Loeb #242, p. 35)
Examples: Centaur, Minotaur, etc. Whatever happened, this appears to have happened before the flood of Noah (with some additional references after the flood).
Until the 4th century A.D.: Angels had relations with humans to create hybrids. (Josephus)
Introduced in the 4th century A.D.: Sons of Seth married the daughters of Cain. (Augustine)
Genetic engineering before the flood: In Genesis 5 and as recorded by Josephus in the first century, these fallen angels appear to have consorted (had relations) with women. This "
genetic" engineering created hybrids and was, in part, the reason for the flood of Noah. Noah was not "
perfect" but his genes were not corrupted.
49. Genesis 4:25
KJV: And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
Latin: cognovit quoque adhuc Adam uxorem suam et peperit filium vocavitque nomen eius Seth dicens posuit mihi Deus semen aliud pro Abel quem occidit Cain
50. Enos - mortal, frail
51. Strongs - Enoch
*H376 אִישׁ (eesh) : contracted for H582 אֱנוֹשׁ (or perhaps rather from an unused root meaning to be extant); a man as an individual or a male person; often used as an adjunct to a more definite term (and in such cases frequently not expressed in translation):--also, another, any (man), a certain, + champion, consent, each, every (one), fellow, (foot-, husband-)man, (good-, great, mighty) man, he, high (degree), him (that is), husband, man(-kind), + none, one, people, person, + steward, what (man) soever, whoso(-ever), worthy. Compare H802.
*H582 אֱנוֹשׁ (en-oshe') : from H605 אָנַשׁ; properly, a mortal (and thus differing from the more dignified 120); hence, a man in general (singly or collectively):--another, X (blood-)thirsty, certain, chap(-man); divers, fellow, X in the flower of their age, husband, (certain, mortal) man, people, person, servant, some ( X of them), + stranger, those, + their trade. It is often unexpressed in the English versions, especially when used in apposition with another word . Compare H376 אִישׁ.
*H583 אֱנוֹשׁ (en-ohsh') : the same as H582 אֱנוֹשׁ; Enosh, a son of Seth; --Enos.
*H605 אָנַשׁ (aw-nash') : a primitive root; to be frail, feeble, or (figuratively) melancholy:--desperate(-ly wicked), incurable, sick, woeful.
*G1800 *1 Ἐνώς (en-oce') : of Hebrew origin (583); Enos (i.e. Enosh), a patriarch:--Enos.
52. Genesis 4:26 Enos - mortal, frail
Genesis 4:26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD. [kjv]
[he]
It appears that "
calling on the name of the Lord" may have been in a profane way and not in a reverent way.
53. Genesis 4:26
KJV: And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.
54. Genesis 5:9-11
Genesis 5:9 And Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan: [kjv]
5:10 And Enos lived after he begat Cainan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begat sons and daughters: [kjv]

58. Cainan - acquisition
The Hebrew name
"Cainan" means
"acquisition" and comes from a root that means
"nest" as in the
"nest" of a
"bird".
59. Strongs - Cainan

nest" or "
residence" of a "
bird".

1 Timothy 1:11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. [kjv]
The Greek word for "
glory" is that of "
opinion". Over time it acquired the meaning in line with how most people define "
glory" today. The only other place where the "
gospel" or "
Good News" is called "
glorious" is in 2 Corinthians 4:4.
There are very few places where the Greek word for "
happy" is used to describe God. This Greek word for "
happy" did, over time, change meaning to that of what would be called "
blessed". This is the only place I can find this combination. It is common to have people described as "
happy" but
not God.
Paul is saying that this "
Good News" was committed to "
his trust". Is there not anyone else (e.g., the other apostles who walked and talked with Jesus) to which this "
Good News" was committed?

counted in the separation count.

108. Genesis 5:29 Noah - comforter
Genesis 5:29 And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed. [kjv]
[he]
The word
"Noah" means
"comfort" or
"comforter".
The ancient Greek word
"διαπαυω" ≈ "rest, break" and is, literally,
"through a stopping". Interestingly, Jesus uses a word based on the same root in the
GNT in Matthew.
109. Genesis 5:29
KJV: And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.

context, at can mean
"rest".

112. Matthew 11:28-29
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. [kjv]
11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. [kjv]
The ancient Greek word
"παύω" ≈ "stop, cease" and, in context, "
rest" or
"pause". The ancient Greek word
"ἀναπαύω" ≈ "stop, cease" and, in
context, at can mean
"rest".
To what is Jesus giving one a
"stop" or
"ceasing"? Might it be from the "
yoke" of "
compulsion" required by the religious institutions?
113. Matthew 11:28-29
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. [kjv]

The Hebrew word
"וישבת" (way-yis-bot) ≈ "and he rested" is the source of the word
"Sabbath" and
"seven" as in the
"seventh" day of creation in Genesis.
Might what Jesus is saying be related to the
"Holy Spirit",
"manna",
"bread of life",
"oil" and
"mercy", etc.?

Matthew 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. [kjv]
... my yoke (two going together) is useful [Christ] and my burden/load [tax] is light.
To what is Jesus giving one a
"stop" or
"ceasing"? Might it be from the "
yoke" of "
compulsion" required by the religious institutions?
115. Matthew 11:28
KJV: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

121. Hebrew
The meaning of the names from
Adam to
Noah in the
original Hebrew appear to make a statement about the Gospel plan of salvation. Here are those generations with their meaning.
Adam (אדמה) = man
Seth (שח) = (Gen 4:25) appointed
Enos (אנוש) = mortal/frail/miserable/incurable
Cainan (קינן) = acquisition (i.e., sin) or Kenan = sorrow/dirge
Mahalaleel (מהללאל) = blessed/praised God
Jared (ירד) = shall come down (verb form)
Enoch (הנוך) = teacher/teaching/commencement (Jude 1:14)
Methuselah (מהושלה) = his death shall bring (the flood)
Lamech (למך) = lament/lamentation/despairing
Noah (נוה) = (Gen 5:29) comfort/comforter (Holy Spirit)
The
Hebrew is in parentheses.
122. Put it together
So, the generations from Adam to Noah in their original meanings can be read as follows:
Man is appointed an acquisition (curse, sin) or mortal/incurable acquisition/nest, but the blessed God shall come down teaching/commencing that his death shall bring the despaired for comforter.
This states the plan of salvation/redemption of the Creator, thousands of years before it was fulfilled.
How did this message get encoded in the Bible thousands of years before it actually happened? Moses wrote down Genesis. Did Moses write of Jesus?
John 5:46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. [kjv]
Jesus recounts this on the Road to Emaeus after Resurrection.
Luke 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. [kjv]
123. John 5:46
KJV: For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
124. Generations and Ten Commandments
Let us match the ten generations with the Ten Commandments.
125. Adam - man
1. Man ...
The starting generation is Adam as man. There are two basic choices or ways.
1. Path to Life, true bread of life, keep the Sabbath holy, Holy Spirit, treasure (in heaven), etc.
2. Path to Death, false bread (of death), treasure (on earth) etc.
Man, through Adam and Eve, chose the second path.
126. Seth - appointed
... 2. is appointed/placed ...
The
"appointment" or
"placement" is based on the choice to follow this path.
Who provided the "false witness" to entice Adam and Eve to follow this path?
127. Enos - incurable
... 3. incurable ...
The
"incurable" condition is based on the
"stealing" of
life through
"deception" or
"false witness".
Who did the "stealing"?
At this point, there was "
calling" on the Lord and
not in a good sense. Might this have been in the form of
"oaths"? Where might this lead?
128. Cainan - acquisition
... 4. acquisition/nest ...
The
"acquisition" is that of
"adultery". Might this be a result of
"oaths" whereupon those following this path were required to fulfill their
"oaths" in the form of
missions that have the form of
"adultery"?
The Hebrew word
"Cainan" is associated with the
"nest" of a
"bird". How might that fit the model? This path leads to the "
house" built on "
sand" and the "
bowl" and "
earth" judgments in Revelation.
129. Mahaleel - blessed God
... 5. but the blessed God ...
The natural progression of this path is to
"death" from a
"killing" or
"murder".
At this point, the
"blessed God" takes action. One should have
"no other Gods".
130. Jared - shall come down
... 6. shall come down ...
To
"keep the name holy" the
"blessed God" "comes down" in the opposite way that Christ will
"go up" in Revelation 4.
131. Enoch - commencing
... 7. commencing ...
The
"commencing" will be in the opposite sense of the
"commencing" of the
"bowl judgments" of the earth and associated
"idols" in Revelation.
"Enoch" was
translated. Interestingly, there is an edge (not shown) from this node directly to the
"blessed God".
132. Methuselah - his death brings
... 8. his death shall bring ...
The
"death" is in the opposite direction of the death of
"Methuselah" that brought the
flood.
Whose "death" does this represent?
Who actualizes this "death"? Might it be related to the "birds" and others who took the way to "death" and are attempting to complete this dead-end path through "idols"?
133. Lamech - despaired for
... 9. despaired for ...
Might the
"desperation" be through the ages as in a
"tradition" similar to
"honor father and mother"?
Some verses about
"Lamech" indicate a
"killing", in the previous node, which leads to this node.
134. Noah - comforter
... 10. comfort/comforter ...
Might the
"comfort" and
"comforter" be related to the
"Holy Spirit", the
"(infinite) bread of life", the
"keeping of the Sabbath holy", etc.?
The ancient Greek word
"ἀναπαύω" ≈ "stop, cease" and, in
context, at can mean
"rest". Jesus will give one that
"rest" or
"stopping".
135. Generations and Ten Commandments
Starting point:
Man with a
decision as to
which path to
"covet".
Path of death: appointed (by selection) (curse, sin) as
mortal/incurable acquisition/nest,
Opened path of life: blessed God shall come down teaching/commencing that
his death shall bring the
despaired for comforter.
136. Generations and Ten Commandments
137. Kingdoms

There are many viewpoints on the "kingdom" of "God" and the "kingdom" of "heaven/air".

Sometimes Jesus just says "kingdom". The TR (Textus Receptus) adds "of God" in one of these verses.
It appears that Jesus uses the noun phrase "kingdom" of "heaven/air" as a code word. Matthew just wrote down what was said. The others merged these together in their minds before writing what they remembered.
