Eclipse Sunday and Moonday
1. Eclipse Sunday and Moonday
2. Matthew 4:24 Epileptic
Matthew 4:24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. [kjv]
The English word
"lunatic" comes, through Latin, from the ancient Greek word
"σεληνῐᾰκός " ≈ "of the moon" and is often taken as "
epileptic".
The word "comet" comes from the Greek for "hairy star". How does the moon cut his hair?
Eclipse it. Why is it called a full moon when you can only see half of it?
3. Eclipse Sunday and Moonday

Eclipses have happened from time to time throughout history. The English word
"eclipse" is, through Latin, from the ancient Greek word
"ἔκλειψις" ≈ "disappearance, abandonment, eclipse" and is from
"ἐκλείπὼ" ≈ "leave out, pass over".
"ἐκ" ≈ "out" as in "Exodus", "exit", etc.
"λείπω" ≈ "leave".
The year 2024 will feature a "
total solar eclipse" through the United States an Monday, April 8, 2024.
The sun is 400 times bigger than the moon but 400 times farther away. The last total eclipse in North America was in August 1917. The next on is on August 23, 2044.
4. Matthew 25:10 Shut door
Matthew 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. [kjv]
They actually go to "
buy".
Who do they "buy" from?
Were they sold a bill of goods, perhaps a bad "pearl" by a wolf dog, "merchant" (great one of the earth), etc.?
To not be thrown out of the "
marriage" "
feast", one needs the proper "
garments" of "
righteousness". These are provided by the "
bridegroom".
How does the "
shut" "
door" compare to closing the door of the ark of Noah? This was in the previous chapter as part of the (same) Olivet Discourse.
[marriage feast in Matthew, Peter and shut door]
5. Eclipses
Matthew 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. [kjv]
Genesis 11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. [kjv]
The ancient Greek word
"ἔκλειψις" ≈ "disappearance, abandonment, eclipse" and is from
"ἐκλείπὼ" ≈ "leave out, pass over".
6. Genesis 11:6
KJV: And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
7. Eclipse jokes
Son: Dad, can you tell me what a solar eclipse is?
Dad: No sun.
What is the best way to organize a solar eclipse party?
Planet it around the moon. The music should include some Neptunes. Moon rock is better than earth rock. It's a little meteor.
What does the moon say at a beach party the day of an eclipse?
Just passing through with some sun block for you.
What did the sun say when it reappeared after the eclipse?
Pleased to heat you again. Did that eclipse joke leave you in the dark?
[This tied a max joke record.]
8. Eclipse
The year 2024 will feature a "
total solar eclipse" through the United States an April 8, 2024.
The sun is 400 times bigger than the moon but 400 times farther away. The last total eclipse in North America was in August 1917. The next on is on August 23, 2044.
9. Eclipse photos
Here is a collage of photos of the eclipse of April 8, 2024, from Kaufman, TX, by the wife of DS.
10. Biblical hype
As often happens, there is a lot of hype about an eclipse. In some cases, various eclipse paths are used to, say, create the ancient Hebrew Aleph letter.
Title:
3 Eclipses That Will Combine To Create A Giant 'Aleph' Over America
To pick out selective data to show a point is called the "
selective evidence fallacy". This is a specific instance of the "
framing fallacy". Pastors do this when they "
cherry pick" verses out of context to support their claims.

11. Unique prophecies
Using the three eclipses that combine to create a giant aleph claim, let is look at a general rule for evaluating such claims.
1. One must show that the event has or will happen as stated. Easy.
2. One must show that the event is a rare instance and does not happen at other times. Not easy.
Requirement 1 is easier than requirement 2. This happened with the equal distance letter codes from the about 2000. One can easily show that these codes exist and provide meanings for each. However, in Hebrew especially, one can find such codes almost any place one looks. Thus, they are not unique enough to support the claims made. When this was pointed out, the proponents then argued that it is the statistical clustering, but such a claim is hard to verify and hard to explain, etc.
Today, many people do not or cannot distinguish the difference between these equal letter distance codes and actual authentication codes in the form of fulfilled prophecies. They lump all of them together as not useful.
12. God's law and human law
Start with God's law and add human law as rays.
God will not share his "
opinion" or "
glory" with human "
opinion" or "
glory".
Beware of those who would have a total eclipse of God's true light by man's (as a wolf-dog) false teaching (darkness).
Both are the same ancient Greek word
"δόξα" ≈ "opinion, expectation" as in "
doxology". It is not difficult for human law, opinion, glory, etc., to "
eclipse" God's law, opinion, glory.
Some religious establishments today remove parts of the 10 commandments, etc., with their own opinion, glory, righteousness. Love neighbor takes precedence over God laws. Some churches do this to "
fill the pews".
13. Joel 2:30-32
Joel 2:30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. [kjv]
2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. [kjv]
2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call. [kjv]

17. Matthew 23:36-39
Matthew 23:36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. [kjv]
23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not ! [kjv]

22. Genesis 12:1-3 Abraham blessed
Genesis 12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: [kjv]
12:2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: [kjv]
12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. [kjv]

26. Luke 13:33-35
Luke 13:33 Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem. [kjv]
13:34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not ! [kjv]
13:35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. [kjv]
This is one of three places in the
GNT (Greek New Testament) where a word is repeated three times in a row. The word
Jerusalem appears once at the end of one verse and appears twice to start the next verse. Where are the other two places?
27. Luke 13:33
KJV: Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
28. Luke 13:34
KJV: O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not !
29. Luke 13:35
KJV: Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
30. Revelation 4:8 Holy
Revelation 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. [kjv]
The word repeated three times in Revelation 4:7 is
"holy". A popular hymn is based on this word repeated three times is the hymn "
Holy, holy holy".
31. Revelation Woe
Revelation 8:13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound! [kjv]
The English word
"woe" appears many times in the Bible. Think of a
"bird" of
prey (eagle, hawk, owl, vulture, etc.) swooping down. Perhaps it was a
"bird" of "
pray". Sometimes the English word
"alas" is used for
"woe".
18:19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate. [kjv]
32. Luke 21:20-23
33. Luke 21:20
KJV: And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
34. Luke 21:21
KJV: Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
35. Luke 21:22
KJV: For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
36. Luke 21:23
KJV: But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days ! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
37. Luke 21:24-27
Luke 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. [kjv]
21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; [kjv]
21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. [kjv]
21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. [kjv]
38. Luke 21:25
KJV: And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
39. Luke 21:26
KJV: Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
40. Luke 21:27
KJV: And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
41. Luke 21:24
KJV: And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
42. Matthew 24:8-10 False prophets
In the
Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24, Jesus tells the disciples (at their request) about the
End Times (or
All of It).
Matthew 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. [kjv]
24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. [kjv]
24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. [kjv]
In a world of billions of people, how many is many?
The Greek translated as
"nations" is that of
"people" or
"ethnics". The Greek translated as "
offended" is that of "
entrapped" or "
misinterpreted".
If the world love's you, are you doing something wrong?
43. Matthew 24:11-12
Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. [kjv]
24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. [kjv]
The Greek translated as "
iniquity" is that of, literally, "
against the law" and is a play on words with the Greek word for "
wind" with allusions to the great accuser Satan.
God has two main laws, love God and love neighbor
as yourself.
44. Ezekiel 39:9-16 Weapons such that no flesh is saved
In the Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24, when asked about the "
end times" Jesus talks of "
all of it" (pun on "
Olivet").
Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. [kjv]
24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. [kjv]
… breviati … breviabuntur … [v]
How could it be possible that no flesh would be saved?
For 2000 years, since the time of Jesus, no one could understand how "
no flesh would be saved". Until 1945.
45. Ezekiel 38:2 Gog
Gog appears in an interesting end times prophecy in Ezekiel that appears to talk about the use of
nuclear weapons. Ezekiel 38 is about the attack and defeat while Ezekiel 39 is about the required
cleanup after the battle.
Ezekiel 38:2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, [kjv]
Son of man, set your face against Gog, and the land of Magog, Rhos, prince of Mesoch and Thobel, and prophesy against him, [bs3]
Did the
LXX (Septuagint) add the name of the "
chief prince" as
"ρως" ≈ "Rhos", the traditional name of
Russia? Or might it have been removed from the
HOT (Hebrew Old Testament)? Another prominent attacker is in the land of Persia or, today, Iran.

46. Ezekiel 38:4-5 Gog
Ezekiel 38:4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: [kjv]
38:5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: [kjv]

47. Romans 11:25-27
Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. [kjv]
11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: [kjv]
11:27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. [kjv]
[Church age, Kingdom of heaven]
The ancient Greek word
"πωρός" ≈ "miserable".
48. Strongs - hardness
- *G4457 *0 πώρωσις (po'-ro-sis) : from G4456; stupidity or callousness:--blindness, hardness.

… al erthe… [wy]
… Teufel… ganzen Kreis … [lu]
Interestingly, the two words that make up this one word appear together in only one verse in the Luther German. The German word "
Teufelskreis" has the connotation of a hopeless situation, such as a catch-22 situation, created by a series of inter-dependent events.
The Latin word
"totius terrae" ≈ "total earth". The Wycliffe follows the Latin and combines "
earth" and "
whole world".
54. Revelation 16:15
Revelation 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. [kjv]
Will the day of the Lord will come as a
deceptive "thief" in the night?
55. Revelation 16:16 Armageddon
Revelation 16:16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. [kjv]
The term Armageddon is known in modern times as a reference to the end of the world. Armageddon is in the Jezreel Valley and is near Nazareth.
Is "
Armageddon" a "
battle" as in one part of a "
war" or is "
Armageddon" a "
war" consisting of a series of battles? Most "
wars" consist of many "
battles". Or does it not matter?
