The battle of "Armageddon" is from the Hebrew for "Har" "Megiddon", the "Mountain" of "Megiddo".
The mound (or city) of Megiddo is, in Hebrew, "Tel Megiddo". The "mountain" is actually a "mound" of a "city" that has built up, layer by layer, such that it is referred to as a "mountain".

Megiddo is found twelve times in the OT (Old Testament) and once in Revelation.

The term Armageddon is known in modern times as a reference to the end of the world. Armageddon is in the Jezreel Valley and is near Nazareth.
