1 Corinthians 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? [kjv]
που σου θανατε το νικος που σου θανατε το κεντρον [gnt]
15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. [kjv]
το δε κεντρον του θανατου η αμαρτια η δε δυναμις της αμαρτιας ο νομος [gnt]
15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. [kjv]
Do people fear the "
sting of death" as stated by Paul?
The Greek word «
κέντρον» means something with a sharp point, which could be used as a whip or goad. As such, it could be like a pole with a sharp point. It can also mean a thorn, nail, etc.
