1. 1 Timothy 6:1-21 Style and content issues

2. 1 Timothy

3. 1 Timothy 6:1-21 Style and content issues
1 Timothy has many logical and theological issues.

... more to be added ...

4. 1 Timothy 6:1 Honor
Verse route1 Timothy 6:1 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. [kjv]
Verse routeοσοι εισιν υπο ζυγον δουλοι τους ιδιους δεσποτας πασης τιμης αξιους ηγεισθωσαν ινα μη το ονομα του θεου και η διδασκαλια βλασφημηται [gnt]

Does one "honor" God by "honoring" the secular values of the world? How about the secular values of a "despot" or "master".

The ancient Greek word "δεσπότης""master, ruler" and is the source, through Latin and French, of the English word "despot" - a ruler with absolute power and who exercises that power in an oppressive (evil) way.

1 Timothy has many logical and theological issues. It appears that one is not to honor nor dishonor a "master".

Information sign More: Matthew 24:43 Identity of the householder

Verse routeουδεν γαρ εισηνεγκαμεν εις τον κοσμον οτι ουδε εξενεγκειν τι δυναμεθα [gnt]

What is treasure? Can you take your treasure with you? Have you ever seen a hearse (on the way to a graveyard) pulling a U-Haul (with possessions, etc.)?
In a sense, we ourself are brought into the "world". Jesus uses "world" as the "people" in the "world".

1 Timothy 6:7 says that we cannot carry any (physical) thing out. What about non-physical things such as information? Can you wire anything ahead?

Why was the funeral delayed when the casket fell out of the hearse?

17. 1 Timothy 6:7 Wire you transferring it
Verse route1 Timothy 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry no thing out. [kjv]
Verse routeουδεν γαρ εισηνεγκαμεν εις τον κοσμον οτι ουδε εξενεγκειν τι δυναμεθα [gnt]

Is the "gold" worth anything where you are going?
When traveling abroad, if you cannot carry cash with you, can you convert it into the currency of the place you are going and wire it ahead so it is there when you get there?

Are you planning any future trips? Are you going to reside in a "mansion"? How about an "inn"? How about a "place to remain"?

Verse route1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. [kjv]
Verse routeριζα γαρ παντων των κακων εστιν η φιλαργυρια ης τινες ορεγομενοι απεπλανηθησαν απο της πιστεως και εαυτους περιεπειραν οδυναις πολλαις [gnt]

Chess pieces
In 1 Timothy 6:10, Paul tells Timothy, Bishop of Ephesus, that the "love of money", literally "love of silver", is the root of "all" "badness".
Is there any "badness" that is not due to "money" or, literally "love of silver"? The Greek word translated as "coveted" is that of "reaching out for". The word translated as "evil" is that of "bad" in general and of the "sick" in particular.

[Reach out for money - bad. Reach out to be a bishop - good.]

Information sign More: 1 Timothy 3:1 Desire to reach out to be a bishop
