The Greek language had few words for what today is called a "street". The KJV (King James Version) translates as "street" words that often had other meanings. One might need to find a "path" through the "flow" of "traffic" through a "plaza".

Notice the pillars holding up the decks. One had to look around those pillars.

4. Elizabethtown trolley

At one time, the trolley went through the "Diamond" square in Elizabethtown.

The "Old Trolley Line Park" is named for the trolley that went near there - following the route of 743 to Hershey. The recreation trail that goes from Elizabethtown to Lebanon was part of the railroad to Cornwall (for the iron ore, etc.).

7. Method as a way to follow after a path
Path
The ancient Greek word "μέθοδος" ≈ "following after, pursuit" and can something positive as in a pursuit of knowledge or something negative as in a trick, ruse or snare. This word comes from two Greek words.
The "following after" in the ancient Greek word was is that of "following after a path" - to knowledge, to an ambush as in a trap, etc.

The Methodists were named for their many "methods" of doing things.

Some pastors (and others) may insist that the Greek prefix "meta" means "changed" but the primary definition is that of "after". Aristotle explains this meaning near the beginning of his book on physics.

This word appears 2 times in the GNT (Greek New Testament), used by Paul in Ephesians to the church in Ephesus - a city familiar with methods of science, philosophy, military, etc.

The following is conducive to a play on words in the Greek. Paul appears to do this once in Ephesians 4:14. The Greek for "doctrine" is that of "teaching". Any teaching that goes against "Loving God" or "Loving neighbor as yourself" would be "without-law" or "against-law".

The ancient Greek word "μέθοδος" ≈ "following after, pursuit, trick/ruse" and is the source of the English word "method" The "wiles" of the "devil" might be thought of as the "methods" of the "devil" as in a trap to deceive those. In both cases in Ephesians, the word for "method" is not used in a positive light. Deception has been an important part of military operations since time began.

The Greek word translated as "against" is that of "towards".

This analogy would be familiar to any soldier of the time as deception was common in military operations. Alexander the Great made great use of deception since he usually had a much smaller force than his opponents. The Romans were deceived at a devastating ambush at Teuteburg Forest about 9 A.D.

The song "Stand up stand up for Jesus" was written by George Duffield, Jr., after the death of Dudley Tyng from a farm accident during the Great Revival of 1858. One of Tyng's last words to his father: "Tell my brethren of the ministry, wherever you meet them, to stand up for Jesus". Both Union and Confederate soldiers sang this song during the American Civil War.

There is a Greek word for "directly" as in a "straight line" and comes from that idea of geometry. The ancient Greek word "εὐθέως" ≈ "immediately, at once, straightway" and can, depending on context, mean shortly or soon.

The city of Damascus had a street named "straight" which still exists today. It was part of the main Roman road through that area, used for commerce, troop movement, etc. It was about a mile long (1500 meters). Paul stayed in a house on this street.
