The eagle as a bird is mentioned many times in the Bible, sometimes in a good way and sometimes in a not so good way.

There are other types of birds mentioned in the Bible that are not covered here.

The generic "birds" is not mentioned in a good light.

Matthew 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? [kjv]

Jesus mentions birds four times in Matthew. According to Jesus:

The birds do not sow.
The birds do not reap.
The birds do not gather into barns.

Who are the birds? What do they do? Might the code word meaning Jesus provides elsewhere be applicable to the generic "birds" or "fowls" of the "air" or "heaven" (same words in Greek) and provide a alternative meaning to the literal sense of the verse?

Here we concentrate on the eagle bird.

The great seal of the United States has an eagle, not a dove or pigeon, with the olive branch on one claw and arrows in the other claw.

The Mexican flag his as an emblem on the flag an eagle and a snake.

The Latin word "aquia" ≈ "eagle" was used as a standard of a Roman legion. Each legion had one such "eagle". The capture of such an "eagle" was prized by opposing troops.

The northern tribes in the camp of Israel in the desert were Dan, Naphtali and Asher. The "eagle" was the symbol for all three tribes. Later it would be the adder or snake.

The word repeated three times in Revelation 8:13 the ancient Greek word "οὐαί" ≈ "woe, alas". The Greek word, and the English word to some extent, is onomatopoeic in that, if one thinks of eagles (or vultures) lurking overhead ready to feast making a screeching sound as they swoop one gets an idea of the meaning. Unlike "Holy, holy, holy", there does not appear to be any popular hymn with the title "woe, woe, woe".
