2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. [kjv]

In 2 Corinthians 5:10, and in Romans, Paul talks about standing before the "judgment seat" of Christ. The Greek is the "bema" seat. The Corinth Games were second only to the Olympic Games in ancient Greece. That "bema" seat was the seat at which the judge sat in determining and presenting awards. Today, the athletes stand on the "victory podium".

In Matthew (and John), Pilate sits in the judgment seat for Christ. The word appears in other places in the GNT (Greek New Testament).
