Zechariah 14:12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. [kjv]
A neutron bomb destroys life without creating as much radiation or contamination as other "
dirty" bombs. In 1978, then President Carter made the policy decision not to deploy the neutron bomb at that time.
Zechariah appears to describe an end-times battle that involves the "
Day of the Lord" and weapons that sound somewhat like a
neutron bomb. On the other hand, it could be some type of
biological weapon.

Day of the Lord" is a special one of a kind day.
There was a "
Day of the Lord" for the first coming on a donkey into Jerusalem.
There appears to be a "
Day of the Lord" associated with the second coming, again involving Jerusalem.

Africa is gradually, faster than one might expect, splitting into two. The
Great Rift Valley goes some 4,000 miles from East Africa up through Jordan in the Middle East. One result is that of more earthquakes, volcanoes, etc.
Why is this such a sensitive issue? Many news articles do not mention the name as in the
Great Rift Valley.

Great about 520 BC. This was after some of the Jews had returned to Jerusalem. What Zachariah writes here is usually taken as a prophecy of the end times.
