1. Job: Legendary thrills by word of mouth
The English word "thrill" appears to come from or be related to the ancient Greek word "θρυλιμα""byword" and has to do with saying things as in the source of "fame".

The ancient Greek word "θρῦλος""noise" as in many voices.

This word appears 3 times in the book of Job in the LXX (Septuagint).

2. Old English
One source of the English word "thrill" is from the Old English word "þyrlian""pierce".

It is unclear how the idea of "piercing" led to the modern idea of a "thrill".

This usually means that your body will get throughly jostled around. An "amusement park" is a place where you are entertained without thinking a lot.
