Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; [kjv]

The hymn "Give thanks" was written in 1978 by Henry Smith. He had trouble finding work out of college, and eventually became legally blind.

In attributing everything to Jesus, the song uses "give thanks" many times.

This hymn is in the new hymnal.
